Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to dispatch Metro Senior Ride Service drivers to and from their destinations in an efficient and timely manner; coordinating the scheduling of our transportation services and complete data entry duties as needed in the office with the goal of providing great customer service and safe transportation for our riders.  

Essential Functions

  • Dispatches transit vehicles throughout the Fargo-Moorhead metro area along with the dispatcher II personnel, records ride reservations.  Answers phone calls  from clients. Schedules driver personnel to staff vans to handle the client load for that particular day. All client information is to be kept confidential by dispatch and driving personnel.  

  Other Functions

  • Reconcile and prepare transit income for deposit. Working with drivers as they turn in their money boxes at the end of the day; unlocking money box counting the fares and accurately reconciling the fares with the driver turn-in.  Must be accurate and comply with all internal controls set forth by the Park District business office. 
  • Coordinates the pickup and delivery by drivers of meal site envelopes and deposit bags.  Coordinate the pickup and drop off of envelopes at the meal sites and Park District business office into the driver schedules each day. 
  • Data entry of rider and vehicle information. Using word and Excel enters data timely and accurately for the Transit Manager to use to complete required reports.

Other:

  • Experience working with windows, Excel spreadsheets and word processing programs is required. 
  • Multi line telephone answering experience and multi-tasking skills required. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedule. 
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to work cooperatively with others.

Education/Experience: 

  • Prior experience dispatching vehicles preferred.
  • Customer relations experience preferred.
  • Associates degree in office management or clerical operations is preferred. 

Credentials/Licenses/Certifications:Must possess a valid driver’s license.
